September 18, 2008 - The first building delivered by Silver Companies' for its Quantico Corporate Center is now fully leased. BAE Systems will occupy 33,055 square feet with 130 workers expected to work there initally; the defense giant said it may eventually have 167 employees at the site to support the $94 million Marine Corps Operational Test and Evaluation Activity Omnibus Support contract.

BAE Systems Technology Solutions & Services Inc. has leased 33,055 square feet in the Quantico Corporate Center. BAE Systems will use the space to support the $94 million Marine Corps Operational Test and Evaluation Activity Omnibus Support contract. About 130 professionals will initially work at the new BAE Systems facility, and the defense giant said it expects to eventually have 167 employees at the site. Following the transaction, the first building is fully leased. Quantico Corporate Center, being developed by Fredericksburg-based Silver Companies, will include one million square feet of Class A office space. Construction is underway on the second building and planning has started on the third. Silver said it expects to deliver the next one in early 2009. CresaPartners provided transaction and project management services to U.K.-based BAE Systems in the lease. Phillip Baxter and David Newman of Silver Companies represented the landlord in the transaction.
